Robert

They don't look much better, even see sun reflection which has been rare this year.

Great control of the whites here Rob, excellent detail, lovely colours. For ease/quickness, you could just add some more selective contrast to bring out a tad more detail in the beak, (the orange part).

A very smart shot and it would be good to see it again if you follow Steve's advice

That is a fine image, and hopefully Steve's advice will make it better still.

As already mentioned, the exposure is spot on. But for me it's the composition that makes the shot, very nicely done, Robert.

Me like very much Robert! :jump: :jump: :jump: Lovely comp and the exposure is perfect. A difficult bird to photograph but you pulled this one off superbly.

Thanks for the comments. This image was actually taken a few years ago with my old 20d and sigma100-300 combination. I have applied some selective contrast and exposure adjustments on the beak area.
