I just posted a bunch of photos from a 7-day trek through the Needle Mountains and Grenadier Range in the Weminuche Wilderness. This is a trip that I've been doing almost every summer for the last six years... I can't get enough of this area!

What a great trip and series of images, it looks like you really made the most of the trip. I think this is the 3rd time I have gone through these images (once on fb and on your blog) and I noticed things I liked each time. Having seen some of the places you went from a ways off, and the photogenic nature of the area, it certainly puts some ideas for future trips in my head.
Nobody, but nobody does mountains better. And, "That's the fact, Jack!" No favorite because they are all just too good.
And, isn't it grand that moose are that far south all these years since they were "re-planted" in North Park?

Jack, These are truly amazing!

What a spectacular shot you posted. Those conditions are outta this world. You really seemed to hit the mother load with all your imagery on this trip. All that wet weather sure translated into some wonderful opportunities. And then you get a moose to top it off!!
Just incredible. You have outdone yourself with "Grenadier Sunrise Reflection,"" Rugged Clouds Abstract," and " Dark Sunrise in the Needles." Instant classics.
I think Dark Sunrise may need another shot at web sharpening. That's one hell-a-va photo and it appears too soft in my opinion. That darn Web Compression!
Just phenomenal photography, Jack. Amazing conditions that you captured at an extremely high level. Kudos.

Another spectacular series, Jack! Wow, if only I had half the legs you have! My favs this time are Misty Mountain Morning, Rugged Clouds Abstract, and Misty Needle Mts. Love those hanging clouds. Have you tried cropping the foreground shoreline off Misty Mountain Morning? It would really maximize the impact of what's happening around those peaks!

Holy smokes! Those were just outstanding!....and I'm only viewing them on my iPhone. Can't wait till I get to my computer in the morning to see them again and read all about the trip.

BTW Jack, is "Weminuche Reflection" Balsum Lake? If so, that's a pretty remote location.
MMM and Rugged are my favorites, but this is so much more than a few grand images to cherry pick, or an image set. It's a great photo essay story of beauty, adventure, partnership, adversity, weather, and wildlife encounters. Great job of telling your unique adventure story and thanks for sharing the back of the Weminuche backcountry through your lens!
