The Beartooth Highway
Here is one from the Beartooth Highway on the Wyoming-Montana line at the northeast entrance to Yellowstone.

It is to get to this road that I took the Chief Joseph (my last post here). I had read that Charles Kuralt of CBS called it the most beautiful drive in America. After being here, I can say he is not exaggerating. Calling it spectacular is an understatement. Simply put-add it to your bucket list.

I takes you right into the high peaks. The views are amazing.

This is a view pretty much right out the window of the car. Great drive, great views.

Thanks all.

I really cannot say enough how fantastic a drive the Beartooth Highway is. I really think it is better than Yellowstone or Rocky Mountain National Parks for landscapes. However, since it is not a national park, it gets much less visitation than either. If you are going to Yellowstone is is well worth planning a night or two for Cody, Red Lodge, Cooke City, or one of the NFS campgrounds in the area.
