cheers for the comments on the boat. I am currently still sorting lots of old raws and trying to process them with a degree of competence and finally finish my website!. A challenge i assure you. I have not posted this picture before but while i was in Scotland i went here every day and took a shot and posted it, it was critiqued at the time re: comp etc and i went back and tried again. This was my final go. I meant to post it at the time but never did. It was on my list to reprocess for the website so just finished and i thought i would see what you thought ... sorry to ramble ...
as ever all c&c welcomed

Really like this one, Phil. The threatening sky looks very good and the rocky stream makes for an excellent lead-in line. The tree is nicely positioned too, so for me your choice of composition works very well.

Very nice Phil. The composition works very nicely with the stream drawing your eye to the ragged old tree. I'm no landscape geezer and my only (minor nit) is I'd reduce the sharpening a tad, you've got a halo over them thar hills.

**** yes i do ... no idea the hills have not been sharpened ... God knows what ive done cheers for pointing it out i will set about removing it, I really dont want to start again

I feel I have seen this before Phil.
Anyway it brings home the fact that to do landscapes you need to be in an area where there are landscapes ! Think about it .

looks good to me Phil, I particularly like the moody sky.
Nice composition and great sky but it looks over processed to me Phil.

Hi Phil,
Have you tried doing a softer version of this as I think the B&W is coming across a bit too sharp? I feel the sky looks good and it has a dark frame to the shot apart from the left hand side. If it was mine I would selectively darken the left hand side to match the right hand side for symmetry purposes. Other than that it a great classic view which cant be taken anymore....

Agree about it looking a bit over processed Phil but great comp and now the tree is down never to be repeated.
