Homing Sailor
From a couple of days ago at Shilshole after sunset.

I'm getting lazy about schlepping tripods and fooling around with 'em. Kinda liking the "freestyle" of hand-holding. The trade-off, of course, comes when ss gets slow... Got a little blur in this one, so added some artistic effect to compensate. I liked this simple scene mostly because of the mast light shining through the sail.

D700, 70-200 @ 200, cpl, f11, 0.8, ISO 1250, -1.0 EV.

Hope everyone is having fun, out shooting, during this transitional time into Fall.

Gorgeous color! Such a peaceful scene; I'd love to be on that boat. (Looks like a bit of noise (maybe just compression)? If so, easily removed for print.)

Thanks, guys.
John: the "noise" is an artistic effect created on purpose. the best view is back from the monitor a ways with your eyes not trying to focus too hard. Put yourself on the boat and sail on in with glassy-eyed enjoyment of water and sunset and sailing buddies... Ahhhhhh...

Very serene and thought provoking. Nicely seen.
