Here is one from northeast Yellowstone. After driving the awesome Beartooth Highway, I passed through Cooke City and entered the northeast part of Yellowstone. Very impressed with it. Nice mountains, valleys, and plenty of trees-which is way different from the area around Old Faithful where there are no grand mountain views and the trees are still regrowing from the fires of 1988.

Without your location identity it would be hard to associate this place as being in Yellowstone. I hope to make it back to Yellowstone, and this region in particular, some day.

If you just do the area around the lake or Old Faithful the park is not really as scenic, or maybe a better way to say it is you do not see mountains. However the area between Cooked City and Roosevelt is really wow scenery wise. Add in the Beartooth and I think it is the best part of the park.

Darrin,
On my mountain photos I have usually found it desirable to reduce the blue tint of distant areas.
Sometimes a mix of blue, green and hue are necessary.
You might try that on this photo and re-submit for input from the audience.

Thanks for sharing some images from these areas, Darren. It's really nice to see some images from the proverbial road not taken. Looks like you had a productive, and more importantly, enjoyable trip.
