Fall Color Gathering?

Hey all.

Yeah, I know, why is a freakin Californian asking about a RMNP gathering for fall colors? When I first came out to shoot in 2005, I met a bunch of amazing people up near Kebler Pass for what was then a CNP outing/gathering. It was a blast. Brent Doerzman put it together and I was and am forever grateful for that event. We had a few more in the years following and some smaller almost unannounced gatherings the past couple years.

I am wondering if there is any interest in picking a spot and trying to meet up/camp/shoot this season. I know it's kinda late in the game, but maybe there will be some of us out there and we can plan it as we go. I won't be there until the 21st. Maybe we wait until more reports come out from this weekend and then make the call as to where?

Since I don't live out that way, it will be difficult for me to set it all up. Any takers?

Happy fall shooting to everyone regardless. :toast:

I'm heading on the trails the evening of Friday September 28 through October 7 - and possibly sooner. First stop is Moab to hang with some of my offroad buddies that weekend - and checking out Moab Fall and maybe sneaking a trip backdoor to Telluride - then whereever the reports take me.

With all the reports so far - I'm tempted to crush a trip in the weekend before, but that would be insane..

Trouble with a meet is I have no idea where I might be day-to-day.

Might be good to trade some text message #'s.

Because you are an honorary Colorado citizen, that's why. I talked to Gov. Hickenlooper (and you thought Schwarzenegger was funny!) just this morning and he was totally cool with that.

I dont know if Jimmy has a dog, but I believe Colorado Citizenship requires owning a dog, preferable one that sits in the back of a 4x4.

Right now my plans are to spend the week of the 23rd around the Ridgway/Telluride area.

I know this is not really the question at hand, but I'll be headed down to Zion the last weekend of Oct and the first weekend of Nov if anyone's interested. Jimmy? Kane? Care for a repeat?

No word yet on timing this year, this far in advance. Things look about a week early around here.
