Thanks for the comments on my last image, always much appreciated.
Another from Richmond Park yesterday morning. Perfect conditions, except that there wasn't that much mist, and the deer were staying out of it! I still managed to get this backlit shot of 2 stags fighting in the dawn light as the sun poked its head over the tree tops.

You are fast making this the Dewhurst speciality, Oscar. I am no fan of square crops, but in this case it works well and I like the symmetry of the entire thing.

Still not a fan of square, but this is a lovely shot and the lighting is wonderful

It's stunning Oscar, can't really see how you could crop it differently.

Great trade mark "Oscar" pic. I feel it could use a little more "guts " - levels - whatever you like to call it. Just my humble opinion. You don't say if its cropped but if it is then a little more landscape would help I think.

Thanks for the comments.
John, it is cropped to square, but is the original height. I'm not sure if there's any more space on the right either actually, so that's why I cropped it square. Otherwise I would have made it a bit more landscape, whereas if I do that now, I won't have the symmetry any more. I've posted a repost with an increase in the midtones contrast, is this better?

Just personal again Oscar but yes its does look better to me.
Its a very subtle difference.

This one doesn't work so well for me Oscar. I'm not quite certain why that should be but I'm thinking perhaps that the 'backlit golden light' effect is more suited to still, quiet almost dreamy like images whereas I feel that a battle like this needs to be more detailed and gritty. I don't know if I have put that across properly but it's only an opinion anyway and you will have(already have) plenty who will love it.

Agree, the second image is so much better, Oscar. I don't mind a square comp on shots like this, very nicely done.
