There's been a bit of chatter about using Zenfolio as a portfolio lately, and while I don;t currently use it, I did come across this free eBook they are offering to help folks get up and running. I'll be honest, I haven't read it yet, but it looked intriguing for those researching what Zenfolio offers.

I have a Zenfolio account and did download the e-Book a few weeks ago though I have had my account there for close to five years. I like Zenfolio a lot and I have one of the pro / premium accounts. I originally tried SmugMug but found it too cumbersome to optimize to what I wanted.

I'm also a strong Zen fan. Easy to set up a very "custom" look with their many templates, lots of personalized choices, and more. They also offer a free 30-day trial for those still unsure.

Zenfolio is a good choice if you want ease of use and don't want to spend much time customizing a site, but it is a far cry from "customizable," most sights still have that cookie cutter look. They also seem to carter mostly to the wedding and portrait clients. Since I have been using it for just over a year I do have some experience with it. Don't get me wrong it works great and has some nice features and I have always had a quick response when contacting support via email. They aren't always able to solve the problem (as with my issue of downloadable files) but they did try and were pleasant in their responses.
