Buzzard (B)
Buzzard (juv) Baited.
Had great fun yesterday with this one. Baited with a dead pigeon I found on the road. This young bird would very cautiously approach the pigeon and then at the last minute a bit of wind would lift one of the pigeons tail feathers and off the Buzzard would go. Would have made good video. This happened three times in 4 and a half hours in the hide. The bird was calling all the time and I guess the parents would normally "teach " them how to deal with a dead bird. I suppose they have to learn some time. Never did get the bird feeding.

Excellent capture and love the moment with the wings raised.

Love it John. In particular the light on the eye area has given the eye a lot of depth and a really 'menacing' look. :toast: :toast:

Great detail in the feathers, that 50-500 still delivers the goods for you.

That Siggy "Biggy" may be battered but it ain't bust thats for sure! Tons of detail and love the pose. Laughed when I read about the nervousness of the bird at the feather movement!

Great pose on this one, John. One of my bogey birds is the Buzzard, as soon as I break that 100yd barrier off they fly :frown:
