This has a big "wow" factor. A great picture, I like the framing of the OOF bg, and the angle.
Super stuff.

Nicely done David. Great to see you've managed to get nearly the whole bird in sharp focus while still leaving the baground diffused. Lovely wing position too. How does it work with a pano crop? :toast:

Superb flight shot David. The low shooting angle and lighting make this great.

Excellent !
Really good to see something different with the Black Grouse as well.
I wasn't aware they had white under their wings either ...

Hi David

It's all been said. Superb image, I can't fault it. Great sense of movement and the grouse feels like he is flying out of the screen. The grouse is very sharp considering you were using 1/200th.

I can't remember seeing a black grouse in flight over Lek shot before so this is an original variation on the classic black grouse shots we normally see.

Sorry to all the other who've posted here.......but this is the best shot I've seen on this forum for a very long time.
To be perfectly honest......it's not the kind of shot that should just be on a net forum, it should be being touted around agencies, esp as blackcock are the darling species of govn't organisations at the moment.
