3 Birds on a stick
Wood Pigeons
These three alighted on my trusty old stump just after the jay cleared off to be sick somewhere else.
The good thing about pool photography is that you can stick perches up all over the place and birds are almost certain to use them- so you have two choices -puddle or perch.

The small aperture has worked well for you, John. There is a good idea of the habitat, and all three birds are in focus. Nice job.

Well worth looking at the bigger one. I don't know why but the background seems to be more dominant in the smaller image. I like the way they are all facing the same direction with their heads on different levels.

Thanks
Robert - funny it does ! Must be a "hoptical " illusion !
Ony two out of about 30 shots with the heads right by the way.

Buzzard bait grows on trees? Brill. Nice that they are all looking the same way!

Another one of my bogey birds  . Agree with Robert re the small image, you have to look at the large version as it has a totally different feel to it. It's a good looking image of an under photographed species; under photographed in my case because I can never get close to the bloody things

Nice one, John.

Yes the larger one works very well. 2 out 30 John, bet you would not have done that on slide
