Skagit Valley Tulip Fields
Here is another shot from the tulip fields last month. I have added some artistic effect to give it a variety from the usual images shot there. Any thoughts?

It's a very serene and pleasing view, Elizabeth, and I really like the artistic treatment you gave it. Works for me!

BTW, was this done completely in PSCS2? If so, what filters did you use on it?

I know little or nothing of such PS effects, but I do enjoy this presentation. Sure works for me. Probably faster than painting it!

This is a really great comp, Beth, I'd like to see the actual photo.

Beth,
From a scene like this of the tulip fields, I think a little more contrast or saturation would do it a little more justice. IMHO.

Very nice, Beth. I jsut wish they'd plant more than one or two colors....

Thanks all!

Geoff - I am still on PSCS, not yet version 2. The main artistic filter I used in this image is a plug in buZZ filter, many changes in selective color to soften the tones, some painting of white on a new layer and adjusting opacity to give additional fog effect, and more playing around. I guess I should write down all my steps on some of these images to give more detail on how I arrive at the final image.

Marc - Yes, much quick than painting.

Mark - Above is the original cropped to a square, after minor processing yet before any artistic effect were added or crop to pano. I would have to go to my archives to find the orginal image before processing.

Erik - The version above has more color no fogging effect, which shows a great deal more contrast. The first version above is printed on watercolor, so the softer tones works best.

Nancy - Some of the other fields have other colors. This one actually had a few pink in the foreground as well. I just cropped down to a pano to isolate the best colors for a wall in my home.

Neat shot. This comp was a great find this tulip season. I also find the photo version appealing with the additional contrast and saturation.

Liz: Did you PS out the cow barn (the jersey colored one) or is it just to the right of the tree? Can't remember?

Good catch Randy. Yes the cow barn on the right and part of a house of the far left are both cloned out, I forgot about that.
