Graeme, any response I give would be kind of self-serving.
But I have received several requests, one to use my At Home Amongst the Trees photo. I'm sure the more talented photographers who have successfully marketed their photos via PhotoPortfolios will eventually chime in on this one.
I haven't had any "blind" sales from my portfolio, but do use it instead of a more expensive hosted web site. I've sold a number of prints by providing the link to my portfolio to show my photos when people ask if my photo work is for sale.
If you want to take the time to hunt for the specifics, Graeme, one of the the CNP (Colorado region) guys posted a week or two ago that he was contacted by National Geographic Adventure magazines through his postings here and possibly his portfolio. I don't recall a few of the details, but he said he was surprized they were poking around here on NPN.
