Another Deer!
Thanks for the comments on my last image.

Sorry for the overload of Deer shots, but it's the only thing I'm really taking at the moment for two reasons, firstly because the Deer are now rutting, and only 35 minutes on the bus from me, and secondly because my camera is really struggling with anything that's remotely fast moving, and is giving me a lot of soft shots, even in conditions where AF should be easy. I think I'm going to have to take it in to be repaired...

Anyway, this was again at Richmond Park last weekend, in some more sublime light! I'm not sure what's happening, every Saturday for about the last month has been clear skies overnight and early morning; long may it continue!

Can't remember techs, and PS is giving me grief as well...

Thanks for looking

Another cracking deer Oscar. I can't decide if I'd clone out the veg on the top of the image or not. Either way its a minor nit! :toast: :toast: :toast:

Bad news about the camera, sounds like it needs some TLC.

Not totally sure about the head on pose here Oscar, but nice light and well exposed, hope your gear and software problems sort themselves out soon....

Keep em coming since I have little time to find my deer. Like the tones, this is getting to be a trademark of yours.

Hi Oscar, I don't mind the head on look, but would have preferred a lower POV. Using a copy of one of the channels as a B/W Levels adjustment does give the image more depth (as it darkens it in key areas) which helps I feel, but does not choke the darker areas.

BTW D300s 200-400 lens f/4 1/2000 ISO800, subject distance 30m  just clicked on the image in PS

I like the head-on pose, and think the pov is quite low enough as the stag stands out well from the background. Bad news about the camera though. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Definitely keep the framing foliage at the top, it sets the image off nicely. The pose is a bit head on, giving the effect of a two legged deer which is never a great look for a four legged animal   but overall it is a nice image. I particularly like the backlit grasses in the foreground.

Thanks for the comments.

Steve, this was as low as I could go as if I had gone any lower, I would have got the sky in the background, which had the silhouette of a large tower block in it, so I tried to avoid it.

Phil I'll be there tomorrow, forecast is good!

Steve, sorry what do you mean? I'm confused
