Hawaii
Just got back from a 10 day trip to the Island of Kauai in Hawaii. This was my first trip to Hawaii and I was not sure what to expect. Kauai is a tropical paradise that gets over 400 inches of rain annually in the mountains. This makes for constant great waterfalls! Here is one that you may recognize from the intro to the old TV show Fantasy Island. It is about 90 feet in height and runs this way most of the time. This shot was taken within walking distance of my car. I had to lean my tripod over the brick wall to get this view.

I will include one more below from a vantage point that was 4000 feet above the ocean looking towards the Nepali Coast.

I am just starting to process my pictures and should have more in a few days.

Man that sure is some scenery (looks a lot like Kansas  ). Amazing to think you can get 4,000 feet high and still be so close to the ocean. Beautiful Tom, looking forward to seeing more.

Just gorgeous Tom! I know you are ready to go back. Stan and I went last year to Maui and fell in love with the place. Bring on the pics! Makes all of us sitting in the office envious!

Now that's something you don't see everyday (at least in Kansas). I did recognize the first one, I guess I just admited Ii used to watch Fantasy Island. The second is beautiful but the blue in the shadows is a little strong on my monitor, but I've never been to the tropics so I can imagine it really looks that way with the strong blue ocean and sky.

Share somemore about mid-winter.

Hey Ken, I went back and looked at the file and corrected the blue. I had to go negative on the blue saturation to make it look a little less strong, thanks for the feedback.

I thought you might have been in Colorado...quite a switch photographing Hawaii! Great stuff, nonetheless. The waterfall is magnificent!
