BIF Pigeon.
Wood Pigeon
This demomstrates exactly why I got the 70-300 Nikor. Just in case something bigger comes to this particular pool. This shot is with the lens at 70mm. Shows how close the birds are ! Pigions are usually quite shy but this particular bird comes around 4 in the afternoon usually and is stupid. Head shots at 300mm are quite interesting. !
Biggie worth a peek:smile:

Lots of views again John, is the stalker back?! Great photo. I love prime lenses, but the zooms are great for this sort of setup. I missed a cracking photo of a woodpecker last week as I had the 2x on the 300mm. Sneaker zoom is not so effective in a hide!

Thanks Paul
Certainly beginning to get on my nerves these viewing figures. This one went up 300 in about an hour.
Probably somebody with a stuck f5 refresh key, but as long as it keeps them happy.
Cheers

When done properly, as here, they show a wonderful range of subtle colouration. Nice one John.

Lovely shot of a much overlooked bird and in a different setting too. Plenty of resolved detail there JR!
