Below is a crop of the middle section so can see detail the camera records if interested. Noise is much better controlled than D300s IMO.

:wavey:Keith, I love it. taking it to the lakes for landscape soon. Very excited though will need to practice my focusing as if it is a bit off when you view at 100% you will notice, as 100% is huge! John, Thanks you, yeah I felt I was forcing the other one so bined it! thought people may want to know how i am getting on with d800 as well. Keep viewing me I am aiming for 2K as well  :toast: :toast:

Nice... great depth, and tones with a pleasing composition and good use of the vignette....

D800 is a game changer. I am looking for noise.... still can't find any. Best press f5 again and see. ;)

It is nice, proper deer shot, clean shadows and not blow outs in that bright bar...brilliant.

Holy crap that is some detail from the crop! What about file size in RAW though must take up a lot of storage? Nikon have certainly upped their game recently and with talk of an 800mm f5.6 soon the Canon boys will be fretting a little! Like the image a lot as the BG shows enough habitat without being overpowering and gives a true feel for early morning.

That d800 can certainly resolve some detail!

Whereas it worked well on Phil H's B/W image I think the vignette is a little bit heavy on this one Phil but other than that it is a very nice shot.

Great detail, but also a good, atmospheric shot.
