Cloudy Sneffels
Well, this pass week I was fortunate to catch the San Juans with some cloudy weather. It wasn't the best image I took, but I liked the mood it conveyed. Also, I was surprised at the decent light, particularly since this was taken at high noon.

Yes, that's very nice. By Saturday a lot of the snow had melted, and the skies were mostly clear and not very interesting. I got lost bushwalking looking for a view different from the 26 photographers at the foot of the big meadow!

(Nice running into you at Kebler pass).

That road in the bottom left just makes me wish I was driving down it into that aspen forest! Wonderful!

Love this photo, Ken - very well composed. I wondered whether it looked a little dark overall, but I suspect that the exposure perfectly reflects the light conditions you saw.

As the line in the song goes, nothing but blue skies here in Ridgway today. I'll keep looking at your photo for inspiration while I wait for some weather!

Stephen, After seeing the same image on a work PC (instead of my Mac), you are correct...it is a bit darker, particularly the aspen. They should be just glowing yellow. Also the interpretation of the white balance seems to be off on a PC monitor.

I like the composition you made and the mood with the clouds. The small bit of serpentine road is a great addition to the image.

The large version comes across much better. I like the comp and pp.
