After re building the pool for the third time due to floods though I’d try it today. Spread some niger seed and a bit of sunflower on an earth bank at the back.
No birds much but had great fun with a little family of bank voles. Lot of binned stuff though with the terrible light conditions as you can see by the exif info.
Nice to keep the old D200 from going rusty too.
D200 EV-one stop.
Nikor 70-300mm
ISO 1000 125th sec@f9
Noise reduction in neat image.
A little Image Guru.
High pass sharpen in CZM
Quite a crop.
Usual pp in Paint shop pro.
Thanks for your coments on my last pic. I hope the other 1000 viewers enjoyed the shot too.
Cheers

I think the old D200 was and is much underrated. I still like it and it feels like a real camera.
Regarding the viewers. Got it sussed My work is so appealing to the millions out there that it is quite embarassing

Very nice John. As Ian says, cute little chaps!

I feel embarrassed, I need a new camera to shoot that good

Yes, nothing to dislike about this shot in any way. What I am really amazed about though is the lack of grain on a D200 at 1000 iso.

Thanks all.
Getting them together is quite simple really. Bank Vole families are quite sociable and I have a feeling these are young from the same brood .Its then just a matter of putting the food in a small area. (Niger).
David- two passes of neat image as I recall. Keeping the exposure on the over side a bit helps too.
