"Lens Baby" Hosta
Hi All, :wavey:

Been gone awhile. Went to Florida/Georgia two months ago and STILL haven't gone through those photos. :frown: Hope to do that soon and get back involved with this site. Kids getting married tend to get in the way of other things.

Anyway, I bought Lens Baby lenses for my wife and I and played a bit in the back yard yesterday. (If you don't know what a Lens Baby is, go to www.lensbaby.com). It's a cool little toy that makes one think outside your normal box and challenge your creativity. I find I need to do that once in a while when I get stuck in a rut of shooting only certain subjects.

This photo of the hosta was taken with the f4 ring in the Lens Baby and converted to b&w in Photoshop.

Hi Jerry - I find your experiment with the Lens Baby very interesting. It's coincidental also as I'd just been having a conversation with a few others in a thread on my site in which the Lens Baby came up. I might just have to schedule a future date for myself with a Lens Baby!

B&W seems like a good choice for this skewed focus shot. I like it!

BTW, here's a page in which a guy did a self-portrait in parts using the Lens Baby...

Jerry,
Good to see you back! I here the lens baby is quite the toy. Was it possible to get the whole center leaf in focus?

Love the dof and tones here, Jerry. Beautiful image!

Thanks, guys!

Eric, I probably could if I used the f5.6 or f8 disk in the lens. I only played with it for a couple hours on Saturday with the f4 disk in it. It does take some getting used to.

Jerry,
Welcome back! This is a pretty cool image...I like it. I wich to see the lush greens in which I know this plant produces...but this is cool too...
