I thought I would share my favorite photograph from the fall season in Colorado. I'll have more to share later but I thought this one was worth posting alone.
"Mt Sopris Sunrise"
A forest of color leads to one of the most prominent mountains in Colorado. After dropping fresh snow on the peaks an autumn storm parted just enough to let the morning light spill out.
My favorite scene of the season. My friend and I spent an hour driving around in the dark trying to find a spot for sunrise but we weren't having luck. We ended up just sleeping along the road close to the spot we thought was the best and it couldn't have worked out better. A beautiful ranch setting leading up to amazing aspens and stellar peaks!

Great photo Jason, lovely colors and the exposure looks spot on. The clouds at the top of the frame are a little distracting, but that's if I'm being super picky. Gotta love sleeping in the car to get shots! Cheers!

Great capture Jason: I love the colors and the early morning light. The clouds are awesome and add some mystery to the image. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Jason, this is truly spectacular and easily one of the best images of Mount Sopris I've ever seen. You did have wonderful conditions. I can’t find anything wrong with it.
It's interesting, I spent 2 days shooting on Prince Creek Road and never had it on my agenda. I also really enjoyed all the fantastic free camping. The colors were just too nice to leave until I was satisfied. I actually enjoyed the sunset shooting in all that colorful scrub oak west of your ranch shot.
Again, well done.

Well composed and executed! Interesting and unique clouds for sure. The only item I saw to improve was the sharpness of the mountain. It seems a bit soft, but that just may be the resolution reduction?

Just beautiful!!! Makes me jealous and envious... I wish I had been able to shoot in Colorado this fall. Have been on the east coast with a lot of rain. Despite the beautiful colors in the east, there is nothing like the fall vistas in Colorado! Awesome shot in every way!

The conditions all came into alignment for you. Impressive image. I really like the sun striking across the mountain and the clouds above.

Yeah, exactly what Angela said! Great light and skies. One of the best autumn images I've seen this year.

I haven't checked the forum for months now, and the first post I saw was this. What a surprise! This is truly an amazing image Jason. Probably the best Sopris image I've ever seen.
