During the "smoky" period a few weeks ago, I had to focus on closer fall subjects. Worked out, in retrospect, otherwise I may not have visited Whitmore or Nellie Creek Falls.
So, how many waterfalls are in Colorado? Some quick research on the World Waterfall Database came up with 423 in Colorado. Umm...I have a LOT more to visit! I suspect I have seen 50-60 over the years.

I like this a lot. You must of had almost no wind to get the 'cotton' effect of the falls and keep the aspen leaves looking in focus or at least not moving.
I'd like to see more of this falls if you have them. Again, very nice.

Ron, As you guessed, I was fortunate with the breeze. It was certainly dark enough to allow for a slow shutter speed, so I waited until the very light breeze subsided. I don't have many other images of this waterfall since I arrived at the area late and had to snap off images rather quickly to capture what remaining light there was.
I agree, very nicely done. I am assuming this is a single image and not a blend? I am curious as to the exposure deatails because you seemed to handle the shadows really well.
I love the world waterfall database so much that I made it a point to shoot as many waterfalls as I could this summer. I think I may have made it to 11 or 12 different falls this summer. I know of a few that aren't included on the database and 1 or 2 of them are on this very road.
Thanks..I metered on the lower portion of the image which created a well exposed image, except for overexposing the aspen. Another image metered and focused on the aspen. The final image was created by blending the aspen into the well exposed image.

Excellent composition and exposure, and the blend is just perfect. The falls appear as if they're coming right out of the cliff face!
I do find the yellows in the leaves to be a wee bit flat, though. A slight Selective Color adjustment (black slider in Yellows) really makes them pop a bit more.
Nice shot of Whitmore. I've got one from a few years back that I have always loved. I hiked down to the base of the falls (It was a little dicey), and even from there, the falls appear to come right out of the cliff face.
