I just ordered myself a spankin new 60D and am searching for either a Kirk or RRS L-bracket. I have a chance to buy one for a 50D but don't know if they're compatible. Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

Thanks in advance.

they are probably NOT interchangeable. They want you to buy a new one! Check on the manufacturer site - they will spcifiy which bracket is for what camera.

Right about that Sandy. They ALWAYS want you to buy a new one. Point being that Canon will sometimes go 2 or 3 generations without changing the basic dimensions of the bodies. For example, the 20D, 30D, and 40D were similar enough that you could use the same L bracket even though RRS and Kirk told you they were all different. Just seeing if anyone knows the answer to the question.
