Scene on the Trail of Cedars on Avalanche Creek, Glacier NP. Nature can produce some unusual color combinations.

Great comp Howard! I like the contrast between dark rocks and the bright moss. The tree growing out of it all is also quite nice.

Very nice intimate scene here, Howard. Good eye for seeing this one!
You might consider backing off of the yellows in the moss, though (Selective Colors->Yellows->Move the Black slider all the way right).

I like the bottom half much more than the top, although even as a whole it's pretty interesting. I agree with JM about the yellow, you also might try playing with softness/clarity to get more feel for the moss texture.

I agree, certainly an interesting find. Ive never seen purple granite before either. So what else did you get from Glacier?

Kane, I don't if that's purple granite; geology isn't my strong suit. But I do know there's a lot of that stuff in Glacier. Here's a shot of Mt. Clements at Logan Pass from the Hidden Lake trail. There appears to be a layer of this material throughout the park because I also noticed in one of the mountains near Swiftcurrent Lake.
