Little Grebes
Bit of a problem with these birds as I wanted to get both in focus, but at least they sat pretty still . Lot of chuck outs due to the low shutter speed and a cheap tripod. Tried some 3 D but didn’t come off ( Sorry David )
D7000
Sigma 50-500 (Non OS) Tripod !!!
ISO 500
60th second @ f 14
Racked out a bit to get extra DOF so biggish crop (70% of full frame.)
Paint Shop Pro 7 pp Levels etc.
Neat Image and CZM High Pass.
Couple of white duck feathers cloned out.
Note the fishing line on the back bird !
Cheers

For those of you that wondered why I took the fungi pics off. I made bad stacking job and lost a couple of crucial slices in the middle field. Will repost if I can find the originals.!

Those fishing lines are a real pain, literally in the case of many water birds. that aside, this is a fine image.

A shame about the 3D, John. Also a shame about the fishing line, I hope it is biodegradable for the little one's sake. Is that a hint of a reflection I see?

Lovely shot John, do the lines come away or do they need help?

Thanks all.
Phil0 Some has suggested it was water weed but I don't think so. It was still in place a few days later and then I didn't go to the site again. So lets hope it was weed.

Sure looks like braided fishing line to me and as already mentioned, great to have both male and female in the same frame.
