Hi, I will be in Boone NC this week and was wondering if anyone has location suggestions.
I am hoping for fall foliage and am always interested in wildflower & other nature opportunities.
Any ideas are appreciated.
(I posted this in the fall thread, but realized maybe it should be it's own topic?)
Hey Paul
I would hit the Blue Ridge Parkway for some great fall foliage this week. You'll be close to Moses Cone and Price Lake which should be nice. I would then head south on BRPW. Check out Rough Ridge, Linn Cove Viaduct, Crab Tree Falls. Just about anywhere along the parkway will be nice. Get up early, find a good lookout with a view to the east and catch sunrise over the mountains. Watch out - it may be crowded.

Thanks Richard for the tips. I was trying for different spots off the beaten path of the BR Parkway. I did spend a little time in nearby Moses Cone (See Autumn Passing, which I just posted in the weekly challenge). BTW, I like your Rough Ridge shots, and will probably be checking that out the next time I'm in the area. Heading home tomorrow.
