Be prepared for a string of Deery stuff. Let me know if you get bored
This young buck looks like he,s in mid roar.
But he's not !
He's trying to demolish a crab apple !! Bit later he was frothing at the mouth so they must be a bit tart ! Funny how the males are oblivious to the hide and camera noise but the does- different story.
Tried the camera in quiet mode too Seems to work.

Usually the does that scupper me John, we must smell bad ;)
Typical forest scene, rather natural and works for me.

Cracking image JR! Looks as though it might need a bitty CW rotation looking at the BG trees although it could be a trick of the eye.
Nice one JR. He looks in fine fettle. Viewpoint is a little elevated but hey .... that's what you get when you climb trees.

Thanks all.
In fact the land does slope in front of the high seat from right down left. This original one is obviously on the left. This one is on the right and you can see the problem with scent ,- as they are about level with the seat- in fact slightly aboove it.

.Its a secondary(sattelite) rutting stand where the bucks play at making scrapes etc The main master buck stand is over in the FC area about 700 metres away. The smell of the bucks on the scrapes attracts does and Prickets etc. Ther is an old salt lick wedged in a stump from years back. There is ample food around at the moment in the form of acorns. The bucks especially go for these and it can result in acorn poisoning, in a heavy mast year like it is at the moment. In the old days we used to used sugar beet to attract them. Salt licks are a good bet though.
