This is way off topic, but I figured it might be an appropriate place to post given the location. My brother is getting married next year on new years eve and is looking for a wedding photographer. I was asked to be the guy to do it, but I already have other duties in the wedding and cannot jumble shooting a wedding into the mix. The wedding will be here in AZ so he is looking for someone fairly close by. If I can get any suggestions and/or recommendations (even websites) it would be greatly appreciated. I know this is fairly early to look for a photog, but they are trying to get things booked in a hurry. If you feel this post doesn't fit the forum feel free to remove it. Thanks for any suggestions!

Google PPA of Arizona and there should be a listing in the city you want.

Peter, I have a friend in Phoenix that photographed my daughter's wedding last year. She's an old photog friend from Denver and did a great job. I'll check with her and see if she's interested and if so I'll pass her e-mail on to you.

Peter, this is a totally shameless plug, but I do shoot weddings now. I'm currently up in Park City, UT this week, but when I get back to Phx this weekend I'll be updating my SmugMug gallery where I post the online galleries for the brides & familes. Once done I'll send you a link. If the bride doesn't prefer my shooting style, then I'm out of the race and wouldn't want to be hired.
The important part is for the bride-to-be and the moms to look at galleries to see shooting style. If Bill's friend has the style they want and they have zero interest in mine or anyone else's, then Bill's friend needs to be the one to shoot it (if she can). Wedding images are a capture of one of the most important events in someone's life and they are cherished by many in the family, not just the couple getting married, so gather some prospects and let them choose. And I do mean bride and moms. I highly emphasize that neither the groom nor any involved male should choose the wedding photographer (WHOA, that should spark some replies!). I realize that's a bold statement and that this site is home to some of the best nature shooters on the planet, but that means next door to zero to making the ladies happy. They look for different things in a photo than us nature shooters do, lol! It's perfectly OK to disagree with my opinion, I'm just going on two years of experience in the wedding world. But it's important to remember one thing when shooting a wedding: the groom started thinking about the wedding when he met her. The bride started thinking about the wedding when she was seven.
As the knight said in the third Indiana Jones movie, "choose wisely".
