Landscape photography for me for this past year has been pretty much none existent due to the fact I am still unemployed. But I have been able to scrape together a few pennies by photographing a few mountain bike races in Winter Park which helped me fund my brief 3 day stint photographing fall colors this year. Here's a link to my recent fall images. Enjoy!

Awesome selection of fall shots. I really like the shots taken on Grand Mesa. These will motivate me to get up there next year. I have no excuse since I have a sister in law that lives in Cedaredge!

Great set of images Jody, hard to pick favorites but I absolutely love the Pierre Lakes Cirque photo.

Hi Jody, glad to see you posting again. We miss your contributions to this site.

I think your Sangre shot is the best of the bunch. Once again you are just one step ahead of me in regards to your mountain compositions. That Sangre shot looks like it was taken from UN13153? If it's not then I have a feeling it’s in the area. I remembered all that lovely Sangre layering and was thinking of a tighter comp but I love the way you shot your image. It’s beautiful. You’re Pierre Lakes shot is quite ominous, right down my alley. That's a shot I’ve been dreaming about too but in the end I find it difficult to motivate myself to be up there in those scary and dangerous conditions. That must have been interesting climb to attain that ridge and setting up your tripod on all that loose Elk talus. Don't tell me you slept, or tried to sleep up there. I'll leave those kinds shots up to you.

The Columbine Lake shot is very nice as well.

Lastly, I met Tad Bowman at the Raggeds shot on 265 about a week after you shot the scene. He told me you had been to the shot earlier that week. There's no doubt that scene has "iconic" written all over it but for right now not that many people know about it. I found it, I'm sure you found it, so I won't be giving directions. We had different conditions. You had more clouds, we had less clouds and more color and the earths curvature.

I also noticed one image I believe may have been from McClure Pass (20120925_5031web.jpg)? It’s a small crop of a huge scene. If so, I shot that scene for a couple hours a week later. I can’t remember a more beautiful aspen scene right off of a road.

Great series! I need to revisit when I get back from my business trio. I really like "Sangre De Cristo mountains at sunset", when I open it full screen on tis laptop it has this majestic feel of power. :toast:

That's a terrific collection. Of the recent aspen shots, I love the combination of simplicity and repetition in "20120925_4985web.jpg".

Judging by the filenames, the "Sangre de Christos Sunset" is earlier, but it's an amazing image. Wonderful combination of composition with the layering and conditions with the weather and light.

You beat me, Jody--unfortunately i'm employed and had only two days for fall
Great set--that sneffels overlook and Sangres shot are beyond awesome. Looks like you got great color in the Grand Mesa and Raggeds too. Nice!
