Just to show Nick that you can also get otters in open light in Wales
Naaah, that's a lie. This isn't a wild Taffy Dwrgi. I took this a few years ago at the British Wildlife Centre and I'm certain that this little model is featured in many a 'wildlife' photographers portfolio (not to mention in many published photos!!!) Still dreaming of getting some light like this.
Incidentally Nick, I have been donning some waders and doing a bit of shrubbery pruning down at the site where I scored with the local otters last spring. (To be honest I could really do with a chainsaw). No sign of them yet but I am keeping my fingers crossed and have a few spies on the look out for me.
Keep yours coming.
Rob.
PS. just in case someone complains ...this is a Captive otter.

Captive or not that is still a cracking image Rob. I appreciate that English/Welsh otters are notoriously difficult to photograph due to their nocturnal nature whereas here on the west coast of Scotland they are as likely to be seen in good daylight as not and are more influenced by the tides. However we do see our fair share of bad weather days and it was a real delight to see the otter on a bright day.

A good image, although it hasn't got the brightness of eye that Nick's otter has.
Your'e right David and I certainly wouldn't choose these above Nick's. Although I was chuffed when I got this set of pictures I just don't get the same pleasure from them now as I get from wild images. The whole of Nicks set are a treat to see, although I am as biased towards otters as you are to 3D
