On Oct. 6th, I posted a series of images taken along the Hidden Lake trail in Glacier NP, including one of an Alpine Lily. After reviewing that image and comparing it to others I had, I realized that I somehow (unintentionally) posted that image with a major color shift. The result (see next post) is much bluer than is the case in real life.
Here's a much more accurate rendition of the lily's true color.

Here's the flawed original image.

What a difference! Not being well versed on flowers, I wouldn't have known that the 'flawed' version was indeed flawed.
But I do like the color of the flowers better, and the overall warmth of everything else is more appealing.
Best of all the crop from the left was exactly what was needed.
This is an outstanding image that deserves to be printed, Howard.
That rework is some kind of beautiful, Howard. Excellent dof, and color.

Thanks, fellas. Good words from you two mean an awful lot. BTW, I did this reposted correction mainly because I was afraid someone (like Morris, possibly) would take note of the strange color on my first post and ask if I was claiming discovery of a new variety of the flower. Gotta maintain credibility.
Are you sure these are alpine lilies? The look like an alpine aster, but I'm not from around here, so I could be mistaken.

Gosh, this is embarrassing (blush). This is what I get for taking someone else's word for something I don't know about.
You're right, Marylynne, it's not an Alpine Lily. After some research in a Rocky Mountain Field Guide, it appears the correct name is "Showy Aster." You were close enough.

The crop and removal of the bud in the LLC look good. It does look like an aster of some sort. The curled petals of the lower head remind me of Christmas ribbon curled with a scissors
