Recently, I was scared to find out that most of the folders in my external hard discs were not visible, it happened with 4 drives. The drives show, say 200 GB is full, but shows only folders with say 30 GB.
I was just too scared at the thought of loosing my data.It happened with both my computors, desktop as well as laptop.
And this is despite :
- I have a good anti-virus on both systems.
- I scanned all the drives.
- All the folders are visible.
- I tried to repair folders in the properties of hard disk.
Then by trial and error, I found out that when I search my folders, then those folders become visible, as most of my folders are in the name of national parks. But i might still loose some date. I just wonder if anyone could please help me out.
Thanks!

Jagdeep, do you keep a running list of your images by a number or a name that each image could be "searched" on by that individual number or name?
You say you can do a "search" and find the folders of national parks, can you open them? If so do you see the images in the folder?
I might try a search on a few images, very early numbered one, and then a much later one to see if they will surface and then more importantly be opened.
If that stuff can be done without any issue then maybe others here can offer up more ideas to see what might be going on......good luck.

Thanks Paul !
The folders I found out, were ok, i could open and see all the images, transfer them else where too. But I may miss out many other folders, which were not in the name of national parks.
