Dunnock
D7000 500mm f4 ISO 250 1/250s at f8 tripod & cable release.

Taken in my garden at a feeding station. Was photographing Coal Tits on the perch when the Dunnock decided to pay a quick visit. Have a pair in the garden and they are quite tame just now and are regular visitors to the feeding station. They usually hoover up the crumbs below the table but now prefer the fine dining on the table. I love the plumage on these birds as at first glance they look quite drab but as you can see they have some lovely fine markings and a lovely eye. The BG & perch may not be to everyones taste. All C+C warmly welcomed.

Many, many thanks for all your kind comments on my otter images and as a humble weekend photographer they are much valued and appreciated.I will post some more in a while.

The quality to be expected from a 7000
Nice one. More canvas left would be even better- and a bit more top. Don't ask 4 much !

I really like the graduated background. Detail on the bird and the stick is superb. Composition looks fine to me and I don't particularly see the need for any extra canvas. Nice one.

Graham is right that it is rare to get such a BG with a dunnock and so full marks for that
