Pig Trail
Fall color looking nice along this section of highway 23, also known as the "Pig Trail"

I would have trouble driving through here in the fall ... my eyes would be wandering where they shouldn't be when behind the wheel. Lovely combination of autumn colors.

We have ridden this road many times on the motorcycles, but I don't think I ever remember seeing it this beautiful with color. Thanks Bill for sharing....makes me want to hop on and ride that way, but 5 hours across state is not just a hop, skip and jump.

Still very little color in Texas. Just sumac. Looks like a nice fall there.

Bill, a very colorful scene that makes we want to explore what is around the bend. I have found the colors to be somewhat elusive this fall, I guess I just need to follow you!

Thanks for sharing.

I'm curious when you took this, Bill. I didn't have much luck on my recent trip to AR - too many leaves had dropped as a result of the wind that blew through.

As a side note, this is a great image - wonderfully composed with rich vibrant color.

Beautiful! I used to make that drive a couple of times a week back in the eighties. I always preferred that over the old 71 highway.

Thanks for the comments from everyone. Brian, this was taken last Saturday, at dusk. Sorry you didn't have much luck on your trip...the color has been good in places, but past peak in others. I've driven at least a thousand miles this month scouting and hiking, so like most years, you just have to have some time to look around.

Thanks for the reply, Bill. I'm kicking myself for not checking this out. I was with a friend and someone told us this area was nice but we didn't make it down here. Oh, well. There will be another year. This is a great image with wonderful color and a nice composition.
