D7000 500mm f4 ISO 500 1/200s at f7.1 tripod.
Taken in my garden at feeding station. Used a teasel head as a perch and put a couple of sunflower seeds on it out of sight. The only shot I managed to get that I liked was this one. I have cloned out the seed that was in its little beak and this has left it apparently calling so it didn't really shout "Ouch! Prickly" and no birdie was harmed during the taking of my image.
All C+C warmly welcomed as always and many, many thanks for your comments on my recent landscape images.
Nick.

Have to say my first thought was "That beak looks odd"... but the rest is spot on!

I've always been a sucker for smooth BG's, and this is a beauty. Agree re the lower mandible looking a little strange.
Got any teasel shots with a Goldfinch sat on it?
Good one, Nick.

Nick if you had not mentioned the seed in its beak i don't think i would have noticed the odd bit on there, still you have a nice neat little bird that looks really good on that bg.

The beak does look odd but no big deal. White cheeks handled well too.
Some how it looks a bit strange on Teasel but I suppose its because we expect Goldfinches all the time.!
