I am just back from a few weeks in Borneo, where one of the highlights was a very close encounter with a western tarsier during a nocturnal safari. All the photographers present chose to photograph the animal without the benefit of a flashgun, The reflection you can see in the eyes is that from a torch, which was the only source of illumination. With the benefit of hindsight I should have upped the ISO to at least 1600, even so I am reasonably happy with this shot.

You have done your own critique quite nicely there David, even 800 or 1000 would have been good. Amazing creature though and I look forward to more images from what must have been a cracking trip

Good job David, ISO 800 would have given 1/80th, should have been fine too! But this looks good to me.

Keith.
I like this one, good eye contact, but I'm not sure that it's quite sharp. It looks like there was a tiny bit of lens blur

What an amazing creature, those eyes are just incredible. Slight nits covered, but still a cracking shot.
