...is looking good right now. This is from yesterday. Those familiar with the area may notice that Blue Mountain lake has all but dried up.

Wow, that is exquisite, Bill. I like the composition with the silhouetted tree and the splash of color throughout.

Great comp and color! I am amazed how many trees like this have survived this horrible drought.

Great work, the tree and color are just right! I was there today and you are correct about Blue Mountain lake, I was shocked how low it is. Cove Lake was as low as I have ever seen it. Man, we need some rain this fall!

Another Bill Dark classic ... just beautiful. I especially like how the light on the fg ridgeline shows off the wonderful fall colors in the trees. Have a great weekend Bill.

Looks like a great sunset and that there is some nice colors in the trees. Have you considered HDR or blending to see if you can bring up the colors on the mountain some? I think it might be possible and really add something to the shot.

Since I was there this past weekend and stood in the exact same spot, I can say you captured the beauty of this place excellently! But standing on that cliff edge made me really nervous.....ha! Gorgeous shot Bill!

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I processed this using two exposures loaded into Photomatix HDR, made some adjustments, then painted in a couple of layer masks to bring out more color and detail in the FG. Unfortunately, most everything I upload to the internet shows the ill effects of jpeg compression, which usually results in increased contrast and an overall darker, more saturated image. The tiff looks a little better.
