I drove up to Red Rocks park yesterday morning to complete some test on a wide-angle lens. Just before entering the park on the south side I saw a group of deer near the road. I parked and grabbed my tele-zoom lens and got some interesting shots. This buck seemed to find my presence of some interest and stopped to pose for me for a few seconds before jumping a fence and bounding off. I did not get a chance to thank him

Gotta grab those opportunities when you get them.
Nice shot Larry

Good timing and quick thinking! If you had had a couple of extra seconds (maybe not possible) I would have swung the camera a hair to the left so the buck wasn't centered. Right now the composition feels a bit unbalanced, with all that rock on the left not really balanced by anything on the right.

Look at the neck on that guy! For some reason, he reminds me of Sly Stallone in Rocky -- could just be the look on his face. Luck favors the prepared, as they always say!

Good to see such a strong healthy buck. Nice image. I agree with Glenn's assessment, though I also understand that you may have had mere seconds to get the shot.

I like it! What a magnificent animal!! I'd be thrilled to have taken this image, Larry.

Thanks for all the comments and i agree a little less centering of the buck would have been better, but there was a group pf trees on the left and scrubs on the right and I was dancing around these obstacles to get any decent shots. I am pretty happy with what I got before the buck jumped a fence and disappeared. I did get a photo of him half way over the fence, but it was half obscured by a tree branch :frown:
