Not had much success of late but got this recently.Don't think it is as sharp as it could be ? and the light wasn't up to much.

Hi Nick

Nice low angle on this one - I feel a little more contrast and saturation would give it a little more punch!

Hi Nick

A good composition, clean background, good bird pose, although would be better with the bird facing towards the camera. I agree with David the colours are very flat and need some PS processing to give this image some oomph.

Hope you don't mind, here is my quick bash at trying to liven up the colours.

I whacked up the saturation with +20, did some selective levels adjustment to the bird and then the background, a little bit of Shadow/Highlight recovery, and then a bit more USM, it looks reasonably sharp at websize but a bit more sharpening can sometimes improve things.

Just a quick effort on my part, some more careful adjustments and fine tuning would get the best out of your photo.

cheers

Sean

A big improvement by Sean, As said if the face was turned slightly then it would improve the image

Much better with the levels adjusted. Look sharp from here, but you have the original. Good low working angle. Solid shot.

A very nice pheasant picture - caught the feather detail nicely.

A very pleasant Pheasant! Just a slight head turn towards camera would be nice. Sean`s work has brought out the best in a good shot.
