I was here photographing with several other landscape and nature photographers with our forum. The sun had just risen which provided the warm glow for this fall color. There is a mix of vine maples, big leaf maples and aspen. The aspen had just started turning so there was not much in the way of fall color for them yet. The night before had been quite rainy and cold but we were blessed with some clear sky and banks of clouds overhead. See my last image posted which is of Mt. Adams with lenticular clouds also taken from this meadow.

A nice sea of color, Phil. Well done!

Hi Phil, I liked your mountain and fall color shot. On this one I like the color but feel that I was not pulled into the picture. I think it is missing a focal point to attract the eye. Pete
Thanks for your comments on mine, Phil. It was fun meeting everyone.
The wall of texture and color where the meadow met the forest provided lots of ops for sure. I like your depiction. To me the reds looks very orange, but maybe that's the way you wanted it to look...
It's so rewarding to see all the different shots from where we were. I know that sometimes we all spread out to find our own shooting spots and sometimes we were right together, seeing almost the same view. The variety of images is imspiring and confirms for me that the eye of the beholder is unique.

Thank you Catherine. Yes the vine maples are tending toward the orange but they were that way to my eyes due to the early morning sunlight. That light warmed them up from the deep red that they were under moist fog light later in the day.

Pete, I arranged this scene for the color and texture contrasts created by the early morning warmth of the rising sun. While there is no one striking element I felt that all parts of the foliage works well together. I'll post some other images from that morning as the 24 hr. posting limit allows.

Nice colors and contrast, Phil. It was a good to have some early morning sun to help with some of our shooting. I'm glad we had a chance to meet and spend sometime with you at the camp site during our lunch break. Hope we meet again someday.

I agree with Catherine. There were enough of us shooting these edges that it is great to see the different takes on such beauty!
