I feel a bit sheepish even bringing up the dirty word, VIDEO, on a photography website. However, my camera does video and I would like to experiment a little, who knows? Any suggestions on a good video editing program? I probably don't need ALL the bells and whistles, but want something with good user interface and ability to do the basics well. My research seems to reveal a gulf between the dumbed down IMovie 11 and professional oriented Final Cut ProX type software (looking for the Toyota Camry of video editing you might say). Any help would be much appreciated. I should add that I presently use Lightroom 4 and PS elements, does PS CS 6 handle video or need to look elsewhere? An all in one solution would be great.
Gary.

Elements Premiere adds the video editing component to basic Elements. Haven't used it but it's probably the most cost effective.

Not all that up on video stuff myself Gary but here are a few that I know of that have free versions that will let you play around and at least start getting your feet wet.
Serif Software's Movie Plus X6 is excellent. https://store.serif.com/ca/MoviePlus/. Serif is a British company that produces quality software at very reasonable prices. I used Movie Plus for a couple of years and it had everything I wanted. I've just stopped using it recently because I switched to Adobe's Creative Cloud subscription which includes access to Premiere Pro. Otherwise, I'd still be using it.

If your Mac based then Serif won't work and neither will Sony Vegas Pro, which is what I use and is excellent. I use many other Serif products including Webplus and Pageplus they are a great company but only for a PC.
I would choose Premier over Final Cut unless you were planning a career switch to video editing then Final Cut is the only way to go.
