Waiting For Winter
Had to work up in Easton and Cle Elum part of the day on Saturday. I made sure my camera battery was charged this time! The weather cooperated a little more this time, except for the snow squalls that came through (see second image).

Most of the color has faded, but a little bit still hung on. On a positive note, the lack of leaves exposed the wonderful shape and form of the aspens in the area.

Snow started coming down! The long exposure turned it into streaks.

Nice! I like the clean reflection in #1 and those colors in #2. My eye gets pulled down to the floating leaves in the second one, and for me, that's a distraction, but it might work for some as part of the story.

I think they actually add to the story like you said Marylynne, but I can see where you're coming from. It would be a "cleaner" image without them no doubt. Maybe I'll employ a little photoshop magic and see how this looks without them...

Here you go Marylynne, no more distractions...

And here's a slightly different version taken a few minutes earlier.

Love the 2nd shot, streaks, leaves and all. Real nice, moody shot with some terrific shots of color from the trees. I also like the misty look above with the reflection of the top of the ridge in the lake below.

I gained the best energy from your last post. The golden orange color of the aspens stands out more for me with the mountains is the background acting as a dark background to help the aspens stand out.

Just caught your post in Landscape too. Very nice set Joe!
