I had an opportunity to enjoy a few days sharing a houseboat and 19ft power boat on Lake Powell over Labor Day week-end. With only 2 sunrises and 2 sunsets the time went by very quickly. It was a nice primer but next time it needs to be a week at least. Here are a few from the trip.

Thanks for sharing, Bob! I've been restoring my boat and looking forward to taking it to Powell for some photography. Nice to see the potential.

Nice collection of images over a short amount of time. I really like #3 as a favorite, wondering if it would have been possible to shoot this at sunrise or sunset though?

Peter - Cant be in a rental boat before sunrise or after sunset. Unless it is moored of course. There were no clouds except the one sunset- the rest of the time it was our standard cloudless sky.

Very cool. We spent a week on a houseboat there about a decade ago. Maybe not the best vacation ever but definitely top 3. I like #7 pretty well but might have muted some of the interior lights. #6 is simply fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

I think you did a great jobe here with all of your restrictions! In particular, I like #'s 4 & 6, and both reflection images that follow.
You must have had a terrific time. I'd love to be able to do this someday.

Bob, of these, I prefer 6&10, although the magenta in 6 looks overdone.
I like the varnish in 10 and think the pontoon boat coming out of the cove is good for the comp. I does look to have a CCW rotation based on the attitude of the boat and furthest waterline.

Ahh, boating. The only hobby more expensive than photography!
For water shots, I think you will like a filter like the Lee Big Stopper. Makes the reflection look smoother.
