Iconic Crystal Mill
Although I had very nice color, lighting wasn't the best. Didn't have much choice in the matter since I had to take one of the jeep tours up to the Mill. Nevertheless, it was great to return to such an iconic place. It had been, give or take, twenty years ago. Glad to see it still "hanging" on. No doubt the road situation has changed over the course of many years. My first trip was in a small sedan, as I recall.

Due to the extreme exposure range, I did have to blend a couple images together. I was fortunate since winds were calm.

Besides overall image critique, I am curious what sparks folks interest, the closer view or the vertical pan?

#2 is my fave - but is there a rotation in there?

Karl,
Yes, I did have to straighten the pano a bit due to using a very wide angle lens.

Ken, you really did hit that scene during peak conditions. The color looks way better than the last few years in there. Both images do a great job showing a beautiful, historic Colorado location. A nit pick, the second image shows a slight halo effect on the treeline that transitions into the cloud.

I like the vertical pan for it's unique look for this popular scene. Looks a little strong on the cyan on my monitor, but wait to see if others see it too. And, it does look as if you chose the perfect time to be there. Oh, and maybe clone out the tree branches intruding ulc in both. Well done.

Great place! I like #2 also, and do see the cyan. Is there a slight right lean to the image?
