Anyone know if roundtop mt trail is open yet?

Learned that the Round Top Mt. trail parking lot no longer exists and that the trail is not accessible from Hwy 7 unless you park on the road. (not adviseable)

Thanks for the update Rod, I was not sure of the status but I thought that maybe it was open since the Highway had been repaired.

Rod, Tim Ernst saw your post about Round Top Mountain and wanted to pass on this information:
There IS a parking area at the Round Top Mountain Trailhead (this was not damaged by the landslide). The trail is currently CLOSED. However, a group of volunteer chainsawyers will be working on the trail this coming Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with hopes of opening up the trail corridor. Once that is complete, they will reopen the trail - and they are hoping this will happen soon after the chainsaw crew gets done - but not until the Resource Council has officially declared that the trail is back open again (until then, please stay off the trail - it is closed to the public). So there IS parking, and the trail will be back open again SOON! The Newton County Resource Council owns the mountain, trail, and road access/parking, and they maintain the trail.
