I was going through some shots taken a few years ago and found this one. Todd (known in the west as "Cloud Man") graciously took me to some of his favorite places in Colorado. I remember this mountain top because we had a storm come by (not on us but around us) saw a rainbow, then a fantastic sunset and last but not least the moon rose over the mountains (can you see it?). How lucky can a photographer get? I was just beginning to shoot pictures at the time, so some clarity is lacking, but the colors are awesome!

The range of color in the sky, combined with those awesome clouds is almost magical. Beautiful, Dottie!

Beautiful image, Dottie. Wonderful light and color combined with a great composition. The panoramic composition is very effective in emphasizing the expansiveness of the scene.

I frequent the RMNP forum and can say that's way better than Todd Caudle !!! :-).
I am also sure few people from the RMNP forum frequent here so its unlikely Todd finds out I said that.... :-)
Seriously, nice image and even though I have never met him , Todd is very generous with his help to people on the forum.
Jan, this was the La Garita Mtns. We road up a 4x4 road to the top.

Dottie,
I had to look up where the La Garita Mts. are. I've been to a lot of places in Colorado but never there(I've always wondered what's down that road)
. Anyway, you've shown that all it takes is to be where ever you are at the right time with the right conditions and a good eye to see the possibilties for a great image. Nice job.
