Ok not what you expected. But one of my favorite shots
Taken a couple of years ago after a summer storm had dumped masses of kelp on a western isles beach. Spent quite a bit of time sat in a gully created by the waves whilst turnstones, dunlin and sanderling ate the millions of bugs that were enjoying the feast of rotting seaweed.
Taken with a 40D an old 600 iso400 F4 1/1600th
C and C welcome

I can see why you like it, I like the colours of the kelp and the almost matching colours of the bird makes for a really striking image... a bit more head turn would have made it perfect
Ian i'm a big fan of this type of shot,as Phil says the colours really do look good maybe a tad more on the right if you have it but that's been picky, like it a lot

Those background colours really do make the shot. Great to see one in summer plumage as well.

Only its mum or a birder could love it. Its sharp and love the BG & FG colours and the wing plumage but that head, well it looks like Telly Savalas

Amazing how far we will go to get away from The land of green ginger, from
Swanland in my case
Do you still shop at 'British erm sters' and greet a sudden thaw with 'err ner thas nerr sner'
Still not a bad place to be a birder
Let me know if you fancy meeting up

The first repost for me too, the seaweed and BG colours are very nice, as is the plumage of the Turnstone.
A quality shot, Ian.
