Nora Batty

One from the files, Short-eared Owl on a post, wearing what look like Nora's tights

Thanks for the feedback on my Snipe shot and thanks for looking.

Sorry for the lack of comments over the last week or so, just renewed my membership.

I can see the resemblence, Andy, but the owl's expression isn't anywhere fierce enough for Nora! Great picture. Like you, I have just renewed my membership.

Wonderfull shot.Great "owl-face"expression. I did not know Nora Batty (I'm sorry for that)so I looked her up in Google and yes there are several similarities. :)
I've never had the chance to picture an wild owl.
But I'm sure once I'll get that chance.

Thanks for the interest guys :toast:

Hi Keith, he was far from mad, in fact he was incredibly relaxed and happily sat on the post preening for well over 40min.

Yes, this was your neck of the woods, it'll be a real shame if this place is put to the plough next year :frown:

Classic preening shuffle Andy
Nice.

PS Don't forge tthe white spot at the base of the upper mandible on Marsh Tits. A lot of the Willow pics if you google them are in fact marsh and not Willow.
