Both shots are different colours John? Small one look better to my mind, classic WW shot.

Well spotted Niel
First one has branches on left toned down. I uploaded the wrong one but thought I,d leave it to see the reaction.

There are 2 there at the moment John, but for the last 2 years most of my better shots have come later on in winter. I'm not sure how successful I'll be this year, however, as the hide from which I get most of my shots is shut for "improvements" (namely, making it better for families and beginners) until February. Not terribly pleased about it, as I'm sure you can imagine!
Stunning birds and light. Could not be better without a chain saw on the trees behind, tempted?

Nice to see some taken in sunlight. I especially like the highlights in the eyes. We have plenty of waxwings around here at the moment, but direct sunlight seems to be rarer than the birds are.
